Sam started On Target Teams in 2006 with a deep interest in corporate development programs and several years experience in the outdoor arts and business environments.  His interest in adventure began prior to 1985 when his father introduced him to leave no trace camping techniques on a 210-acre reserve in southern Indiana.  While growing up, opportunities for involvement in outdoor activities led to many years of enjoyment in scouting and 4-H. 
Parallel to Sam’s involvement with the Boy Scouts, was his participation in other community organizations, academic, and sporting programs where he developed his leadership and communication styles,eventually earning him an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. 
In 1994, he pursued a degree in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management from Indiana University, a pioneer in Adventure Education programs.  Upon completion of undergraduate studies at Indiana, Sam headed west to Olympic National Park where he worked as a back country ranger in 1998 in the Sol Duc District with training in Search and Rescue, High-angle rescue, type II Wildland Firefighting, and Survival skills.
In 2000, Sam decided to investigate possible careers in business and accounting in Seattle, Washington.  He worked in the position of investment accountant and banking specialist for a non-profit dental insurance organization for many years before moving to Connecticut to develop corporate team building programs.  

Sam is a unique individual that brings excellent vision and energy to the organization.
